Crime Scene Grieving Families

Q: Can I just have my employees clean up blood?

A: Federal Regulation 29CFR1910.1030 states that no employee can be placed in a position to be exposed to blood spills without first:

1. Receiving bloodborne pathogen (BBP) training.
2. Having a written BBP exposure control plan.
3. Having been provided personal protective equipment (PPE).
4. Having been offered Hepatitis B vaccine and exposure evaluation and follow-up.
5. Being provided with a method to remove and porperly store the biohazardous waste in properly marked containers for disposal at an approved site.

Only after these five steps have been met can an employee be required by his or her employer to clean biohazardous materials.

Q: What should I look for in an emergency cleaning company?

A: Due to the severity of many of these cleaning jobs, a general contractor’s license from the Arizona Registar of Contractors is required. A Bio Waste Transportation License must be obtained through the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ).  Without this transportation license, bio waste cannot be legally dumped.

Q: Is there a difference between a restoration company and an emergency cleaning company?

A: Yes, restoration companies specialize in restoration construction and often have small and untrained crews performing crime scene cleanup. Jack of all trades, master of none. Bio Solutions is solely an emergency cleaning company.  Our employees are vigorously trained on the latest industry techniques and meet and exceed all OSHAbloodborne pathogen and respiratory requirements.

Q: How quickly can Bio Solutions respond?

A: Help is a phone call away 24 hours a day.  We are able to dispatch minutes from your initial call and can usually be on scene in less than an hour.*

Q: Do you respond outside of Southern Arizona?

A: Yes, Bio Solutions is licensed, bonded, and insured for the entire state of Arizona.  We proudly offer our services statewide.

Q: Is this type of cleanup expensive?

A: Properly licensed emergency cleaning companies charge hourly industry standard rates. Bio Solutions saves customers money by being more efficient, thus faster and in some cases, we can bill directly to the insurance company. With up-front pricing and no hidden fees, we are confident our prices are lower than our competition. Call today for a free, no obligation estimate.

*One hour response time is for the Tucson Metro Area, Phoenix response time three hours or less
